Petition to the Government of Canada
Whereas:
• Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms, specifically uncensored AI "girlfriend" and adult roleplay services, allow users to upload photos directly to their platforms without mandatory safety pre-screening;
• These platforms often operate under a "no-filter" or "unfiltered" policy, creating an environment where user-uploaded images can easily be processed into non-consensual sexualized content or Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM); and
• Voluntary industry pledges and post-harm reporting mechanisms are insufficient to prevent the creation and dissemination of illegal and exploiting content before it occurs.
We, the undersigned, Citizens and Residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to 1. Legally mandate Safety-by-Design pre-screening upload filters on all generative AI platforms operating in or accessible within Canada; 2. Require AI platforms to automatically detect and block user-uploaded images containing non-consensual sexual content or CSAM before the AI processes or generates outputs; 3. Enforce strict regulatory accountability and penalties for AI platforms, including adult roleplay and companion applications, that fail to maintain real-time image scanning standards.
