Petition to the Government of Canada
Whereas:
• Millions of Canadians across multiple generations have watched the Canadian Forces Snowbirds perform at community events, celebrations, and airshows throughout Canada, creating a shared experience that connects Canadians across the country;
• The Canadian Forces Snowbirds represent Canadian pride, unity, and excellence, and serve as ambassadors for Canada through their public performances, community engagement, and military professionalism at home and abroad;
• The continued operation of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds preserves an important and enduring tradition in Canada's aviation and military history and contributes to national morale by inspiring Canadians of all ages;
• The Canadian Forces Snowbirds support public outreach and recruitment efforts for the Canadian Armed Forces by showcasing the contributions of pilots, technicians, and support personnel;
• The Canadian Forces Snowbirds help preserve a unique body of aviation knowledge, skills, and operational experience that has been developed and passed on through generations of pilots, technicians, and support personnel for more than five decades; and
• The Government of Canada has invested in extending the operational life of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds' CT-114 Tutor aircraft to support the continued operation of the team pending the introduction of a replacement aircraft.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to ensure that the Canadian Forces Snowbirds remain visible and actively engaged in public air demonstrations, with reasonable operational adjustments made as necessary to maintain safety, throughout the transition to a replacement aircraft and until that replacement aircraft is available and operational.
