Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled

Whereas:

• Medhani Yohans, a non-citizen and sponsored refugee from Eritrea with "Protected Person" status, has a documented history of violence including convictions for sexual assault against strangers;

• The individual has demonstrated a persistent disregard for public safety and the Canadian judicial system, having been repeatedly arrested and charged for breaching court-ordered probation conditions within hours of his release; and

• The Guelph Police Service has issued multiple public safety warnings explicitly identifying this individual as a high-risk offender who poses a specific danger to women.

We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to: 1. Direct the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to immediately issue a formal "Danger Opinion" regarding Medhani Yohans to override his protected status and enforce his deportation order; and 2. Review and reform the administrative thresholds required for the CBSA to issue a "Danger Opinion" in cases involving repeat violent offenders and sex offenders, prioritizing public safety over protected immigration status.
