Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled
Whereas:
• Interprovincial trade barriers continue to restrict the free movement of goods and services within Canada, limiting economic growth and reducing competitiveness;
• These barriers increase costs for consumers and businesses, resulting in fewer job opportunities for young Canadians entering the workforce; and
• Many professions in Canada face inconsistent certification and licensing requirements across provinces, creating obstacles for students, apprentices, and new graduates seeking employment or training opportunities in different regions.
We, the undersigned, students and residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to:
1. Work collaboratively with provincial and territorial governments to reduce or eliminate unnecessary interprovincial trade barriers;
2. Strengthen and modernize the Canadian Free Trade Agreement to ensure freer movement of goods, services, and labour across Canada;
3. Promote mutual recognition of professional certifications and reduce regulatory duplication that prevents students and young workers from accessing opportunities nationwide; and
4. Prioritize policies that support a competitive national economy and expand economic and employment opportunities for the next generation.
