Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:
• Since December 28th, 2025 the so-called ‘Islamic Republic’ dictatorship has committed mass, documented crimes against humanity against unarmed protesters and prisoners;
• With the February 28th death of ‘Supreme Leader’ Khamenei, the regime is near collapse and at its weakest point in history;
• Iranians inside their country and abroad have called in overwhelming numbers for exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to lead a political transition to free elections, which will end forty-seven years of theocratic misrule; and
• A free Iran will be an invaluable ally for Canada in today’s international context, which has seen upheaval from war, trade disputes, and disrespect for national sovereignty. As strong democracies together, Canada and Iran can forge a truly beneficial relationship on all fronts.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to • 1. Urge the Government of Canada to withdraw international recognition of the ‘Islamic Republic,’ and call for its expulsion from all organizations, including the UN.
• 2. Declare the ‘IR’ regime illegitimate, and recognize that Iranians under IR occupation have the right to remove this dictatorship.
• 3. Call on Canada’s international allies to make the same declaration.
• 4. Recognize the Convention of National Cooperation to Save Iran, and its representative Reza Pahlavi, as Iran’s legitimate transitional government.
• 5. Urge the Government of Canada to turn over Canada-based property of Iranians stolen by the ‘IR’ regime, such as the embassy building in Ottawa and all other assets, to the transitional government.
